Provided by Green Dot Corporation and issued by Green Dot Bank, the Turbo Visa Debit card is an excellent way to solve your tax and financial problems. Known as one of the most reliable and well-established online tax preparation software options, Turbo Tax is a brand widely recognized in the world of financial products.

This card provides the user with an effective system for filing tax returns. While the card may come with lengthy fees, it still offers a great solution for free state and federal tax preparation, making tax return simpler than ever.

Who Is This Card For?

Turbo Visa Debit Card is good for all those who want to pay or received their taxes with a credit card to earn more benefits than they pay in fees.

However, we have to notice that their services are a bit more expensive than the services of their competitors. If you don't mind paying typical state and federal tax software fees, Turbo Tax may be the best and simplest solution to manage your tax returns.

Many people have a problem with receiving tax returns on their cards, but that can be quite beneficial if you're aware of what you're dealing with. That's why Turbo Tax offers a range of benefits for those who decide to use their services.

Put simply, if you're after a simpler way of managing your tax preparation and returns, Turbo Visa debit card might just be up your alley.

The Benefits

The Turbo Visa allows you to receive tax refund advances with no interest. The process of application is fully online, saving you time and effort. Now, the card issuer allows you to receive an advance when you make your application online.

This advance accounts for a small portion of the total tax refund amount. What's great is that you don't need a separate application to get the advance, your e-file will suffice. There are a couple of determining factors that play a role in your approval decision:

  • Your credit
  • Your tax information
  • The size of your federal refund

The advance goes directly on your debit card, the Turbo Visa, and you'll receive it within 5-10 days, via your mail. However, the card issuer will also send your temporary card information within two days to allow you to access your advance.

The moment the IRS completes processing your refund, you'll be allowed to access the rest of the funds on your card. The amount on your card will be decreased for your tax preparation fee and the amount you already received.

You can use this card just like any other debit or credit card. There are no additional expenses if you use Turbo Tax's free edition while any withdrawal from their ATM network is also free of charge.

In addition, there's also a range of add-on services you can use to either prepare or review your tax return, as well as a live CPA or a Certified Public Accountant that offers assistance with your tax return for a fee.

The Disadvantages

While the card does offer some benefits, this level of convenience isn't without its downsides. Aside from plenty of fees and rather a high interest rate, this card includes hefty maintenance, as well as minimum balance requirement. Any withdrawal outside of the ATM network is also an additional charge.

There are also a couple of fees more to worry about:

  • Maintenance fee
  • Withdrawal fee
  • Monthly fee
  • Activation fee
  • Customer service fee

Aside from all these fees, there are a couple of things more you should know. You can't count on an advance over $2,000. These are big disadvantages, rendering this card not suitable for everyone.

Should You Use This Card?

If paying fees and succumbing to other restrictions isn't a big deal for you, yes, you should use this card. It will significantly expedite and simplify your tax preparation and refund.

However, if you want a larger advance or your W-2s is late, this might not be the best option for your financial needs. Since you can’t make direct fund deposits to your bank account, you could get stuck with all the cash on your card.

Best card while you wait for a tax refund
I hate waiting for my tax return because my job requires me to travel all over the world. The good thing is that this card helps get my tax refund faster than any other, and I can use it anywhere in the world. There are some other benefits. For example, I can check my credit score for free whenever I want. The Direct deposit feature is awesome because it covers so many shops everywhere I go. When I want to shop, I deposit a fewe hundred dollars and spend them without worrying about taxes!

Easy for doing your taxes and saving money
This card is simple to use. At first, I got stuck a few times and couldn't find my way around, but when you call the number, they answer instantly and offer extensive help. I like it, especially because you can print out forms whenever you need them. Even if you forget to fill out your whole form, the site saves everything, and you can just continue where you left it. It gives you the option to file your taxes without spending a lot of money every time you do it.
