Credit card affiliate partnerships are nothing new, but Citi AAdvantage and American Airlines are teaming up to bring you even more exclusive rewards that go beyond Frequent Flyer miles: a new concert series featuring some of today’s biggest acts.

Only a few days ago Citi and American Airlines announced a new concert series that will bring together the convenience of the American Airlines’ frequent flyer program, the international purchasing power of Citi credit cards, and some of the most popular musical acts in the entire world.

With the newly rehashed Citi AAdvantage frequent flyer credit card you will not only earn points towards travel benefits and other common perks, but you will also get exclusive access to a special concert series that is only available to Citi AAdvantage customers.

In a press release Ralph Andretta, head of co-brands and loyalty at Citi Cards, said:

We’re always looking for new ways to reward our customers’ loyalty, and these concerts are a unique way to recognize Citi AAdvantage customers and celebrate our 25-year journey with American Airlines. We look forward to hosting these great performances where our customers can listen to their favorite music and hear about the artists’ journeys.

Citi AAdvantage Members Only concerts include shows from Alicia Keys, Maroon 5, and more through the Love the Journey Concert Series. Produced by LiveNation, one of the largest concert promoters in the country, tickets for these shows are only available to Citi AAdvantage members and are limited to two per cardholder.

Tickets are on a first-come, first-served basis and expected to sell out quickly. Tickets go on sale September 18 and the first concert will be on October 15 at the Avery Fisher Hall in Lincoln Center.

Cardholders who take advantage of this opportunity will be able to enjoy the sultry, sassy sounds from Alicia Keys’ catalog, including her new album, but also some face time as she tells stories about her journey to the top.

This is an especially meaningful experience for Keys as it marks a homecoming for the New York City native. She says:

I can’t think of a better way to share new music from Girl On Fire than by holding a special, intimate concert. I really love performing in this kind of environment. It’s a connection that is idescribable.

Cardholders who have more access to West Coast venues, on the other hand, will enjoy a similar show with Maroon 5 at the Orpheum Theatre. Levine, taking a break from his prime time gig as a vocal coach on NBD’s “The Voice” to perform hits like “She Will Be Loved” and the band’s latest “Moves Like Jagger,” comments:

It’s been an amazing journey sharing our music with fans over the years. We’re excited to share some of our stories along the way with fans in this special concert for Citi AAdvantage customers.

In addition to this benefit, though, cardholders will also still get access to standard Citi AAdvantage benefits. This includes travel benefits like the ability to earn miles with every purchase, the freedom to earn up to 10,000 bonus miles every year, free checked bags, priority boarding (with American Airlines carriers) and more.

The Citi AAdvantage card has been a popular airline loyalty card since the late 1980s and continues to be one of the most popular travel cards across the credit card industry. With a moderate annual fee of $95 and the potential to earn 30,000 bonus miles once you sign up (with minimum requirements), this card offers a little something for everyone. Altogether, then, this is quite an attractive card; especially if you are a frequent traveler and a music fan.
